Hurt/Sloan Song b/w Listen/Dinosaurs
Sub Pop SP205 7" / SP205b CD, released April 1993 (U.S.)
Sub Pop SP87/258 7" / SPCD 88/259 CD, released 1993 (Germany)
The first Eric's Trip single on Sub Pop. The U.S. version is on black vinyl and the European one is red. The U.S. one is rarer, but the two seem to sell for around the same price. This band never clicked for me, but many others sure do like them.

Sebadoh breaks onto the Sub Pop scene...and life is never the same again. Oh, I see, Sebadoh. Too good for the standard yellow Sub Pop label, huh? Black vinyl, custom labels.

SP212 Sprinkler
SP213 Severin
SP214 Ween
Limited to 2,000 copies, all on pink vinyl. I don't know what it was about Ween that created an obsessive fan base, but they certainly did that. The value of this record has consistently had a $25-30 floor. In recent years, it has been a bit more volatile, jumping up into the $50 range at times. It seems to still be findable for $30.

This band contained members of Soundgarden. Most were on black vinyl, but there are some grey marble copies around. The grey ones have turned out to be super rare.

SP235 Jale

Cut: Promise b/w 3 Days
Sub Pop SP235 7", released 1993 (U.S.)
Sub Pop SP126/309 7", released 1994 (Germany)
Sub Pop sub procd#31 (U.S.)
This was Jale's first solo Sub Pop release. Very good. The U.S. version was on black vinyl - supposedly a press run of 1,500. The European version can be found on red, blue, and yellow vinyl. The European one was a total press run of 1,000, but it was not an even split between the three colors. The red one is by far the most common. The blue is scarce, but can be found, and the yellow has classically been the most difficult to find. A bunch of them have shown up recently, though, driving down the price.
There was also a really cool Sub Pop promo CD EP for "Promise". I wrestled with giving this one its own entry. It had completely different artwork from the 7" (there was no booklet/front cover - the image above is from the back of the CD). It did not contain the b-side from the 7". It did, however, come loaded with other rarities. It had demos for "More or Less" and "Stepping Out", radio performances of "Promise" and "Brother", and an alternate version of "Nebulous" (which also appeard on the From Greer to Eternity compilation.

Surprisingly difficult 7" to find. This one took me forever to track down when I was selling my big set. It's a little easier now, but remains somewhat scarce. Black vinyl.

Sub Pop SP249 7" / SP249b CD, released May 1994 (U.S.)
Sub Pop SP125/308 7", released 1994 (Germany)
This continued the very short run of split singles on which the bands covered each other. The U.S. version was on black vinyl, while the European pressing was on yellow vinyl. Both are pretty common. The U.S. one is a little rarer.
