I know this will be a shocking revelation, but Greg Dulli digs Prince. So when Spin Magazine put this digital comp of Prince covers out, it entirely made sense that The Twilight Singers were on it with a cover of "When Doves Cry". Longtime Afghan Whigs followers will know that the Whigs did a rendition of it way back on their Gentlemen tour. In fact, it surfaced in 1994 on the most widely distributed bootleg CDs from that tour. So it was cool to hear a studio version of it, and this one even featured Apollonia. The comp was available as a free download.
