Rocket from the Crypt
Here's an odd one. This boot surfaced in 2017. It was a one-sided 12" containing 6 random tracks. The first was "My Silver Head", which had only ever been released as a digital track around 1999 or so, if memory serves. It was released as an exclusive track for Liquid Audio, a name out of early dot-com lore. Their product had launched to compete with Winamp and Windows Media Player in a pre-iPod/iTunes world. Anyway, the song was great, and very few people had a decent recording of the track, since you could only play it through the Liquid Player. I managed to get a good one by recording it to a MiniDisc (it was a different world, folks). So yeah, despite it being on a bootleg, it was cool to see the track make another appearance.
The other songs on here were the three bonus tracks released on the remastered Circa: Now! CD and then two live tracks: "Blue Cowboy", a Greg Sage cover, and "Down on the Boondocks", a Billy Joe Royal cover. Purportedly limited to 40 hand-numbered copies. I guess that's possible. I feel like enough of them showed up that the 40 figure is questionable. It sold for around $50 when it first surfaced, but settled into the $25-$30 range.
The vinyl was black for this one, and it had plain white labels. It was also a one-sided 12". The sleeve was not a full sleeve - it was a thick-stock cardboard, glossy foldover sleeve, and the back only covered half of the record. The numbering was in black marker on the inside of the sleeve, near the top.
