The Checkered Cabs

Ska Satellite MR9010 CD, released 1998 (U.S.)

How is it possible that this was the only Checkered Cabs album? They did have several singles and compilation appearances, but this was the lone full-length. They were one of the stalwart DC ska bands, featuring the ever-infectious vocals of Caz Gardiner. This band seemed to have a hard time keeping a functioning horn section in place for any length of time. Always a lot of fun to see live. Caz bounces around on stage like Snoopy. I saw them last in...probably was well after this CD had been released, and they had a solid horn section and a bunch of new songs. None of those tracks ever saw the light of day. I would love to hear some of those again. This one was only available on CD.
